The meeting took place on the eve of the conclusion of the 2025 Formula 1 season, whose final round will be held in the United Arab Emirates at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and could crown a new champion. The one arriving at the last race with the highest chances of being champion is Englishman Lando Norris, who has 408 points and has a chance to win his first title. He is followed by Dutchman Max Verstappen, champion of the last four seasons, with 396 points, while Piastri, who led the championship for most of the year, is third, four points less than the Red Bull driver.
